Default About elementalist armors

Hello all.

I recently made an elementalist, and I like it, really.

But I have an doubt about our armors. I would like to know if it matters the armor you use at all?

For example, my question is: could a fire ele use geomancer armour? or a earth ele use hydromancer armor?

Thank you.

The armor will not prevent you from casting other elemental spells. So you can were hydromancer armor and cast air, earth, fire, water or other spells (assuming you have access to other types of spells).

The things that affect you are the looks (which seems to be a big thing to some people) and the properties it gives you.

Hope this helps.

The ele armours just suck really so it doesn't matter what you use. Unless you intend to buy all 4 sets so your fully protected against any possible 1 attribute line so be it... but Afflicted use Fire and Air, Saltsprays use Fire and Lightning, Dragon Moss use Air and Water, Shirokens use Fire and Earth.

It really doesn't matter...

I've noticed that most enemies use Fire elemental damage of some kind or another, so that might be, on average, slightly better than the others. Still, +15 armor is not all that awesome a mod, especially since it's just vs. one element. If there was a +15 armor while casting, however, I'd buy like 4 sets in my excitement.

Depending on the campaign you are playing, you will be using different armour.

Prophecies :
Here you have a choice between Pyro,Geo,Air and Hydro. Each of these gives you +15AL vs all elemental and a further +15AL against each elemental line. So you could in essence decide on one that looks really nice or get a set for each area you are fighting in.

Factions :
Same as prophecies but now you get Battlemage, Archmage and Tempest as well. Battlemage armour gives you +15AL vs Physical (nice for PvP or any place you are in with melee damage). Archmage gives you +35 Health, nice for the health bonus if you don't want to be the first target of the enemy AI or perhaps to counteract the Sup runes you are using Tempest +10AL against all while enchanted.

I own the following sets :
Obsidian Battlemage - thought the +15AL vs Physical would be great. Works nice in melee but you still take a lot of dmg from other casters.
Tempest Kurzick - the +10AL while enchanted is always on for me with attunements so this one I find works really well.
Aeromancer Canthan - required a set for PvP, though only works against other air spikers

Mostly you can survive by playing smartly, don't be part of the aggro when the first of your group runs in and just provide your firepower/supper where needed and you wont be taking too many hits. So really it just depends on looks and then after that your fighting style. Personally I think Tempest is a pretty good choice since you have the bonus all round.

If you have Prophecies, then getting armor that's the same as the element you use is not necesarily a good idea. For example, you might want pyromancer armor in the game's beginning because the Charr use fire. Later on, hydromancer can better defend you in the Shiverpeaks. Personally, since I have Factions, I like using Battlemage, just because melee attackers are the ones who kill my elementalist more than any other enemies.

i only play Prophecies. don't use any factions armours or chars. with that said.

Buy whatever makes u look best. However during the missions u face Fire the most id say. But Farming and Anywhere else, depends what u want to do. PvP i like to take Aero, simply cause i fear Air Spikes the most, Fire and Water don't spike to often, and Earth is just either armour ignore or doesn't happen often enough.
